Canine officer learning the ropes of St. Charles Police Department

The newest member of the St. Charles Police Department is a furry, four-legged officer trained in narcotics and tracking.
Aries, a 2-year-old German shepherd, joined the department in November after a six-week training course at Landheim K-9 Law Enforcement Training Center in Dyer, Ind.

His partner is officer Nic Anson. Though Anson has been a police officer in St. Charles for about four years, this is his first time working with a canine partner.
