Police dog sniffs out runaway driver after crash on I-93
May 18th, 2009 | by admin |CONCORD – A state trooper and his dog tracked down a Concord man who ran away after crashing his car on the off-ramp between Interstates 93 and 393, police reported this morning.
Alexander Morley, 28, of Concord, faces charges of DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest, police reported.
Police said Morley lost control and rolled his car in the median along the off-ramp at about 10:39 p.m. Friday. Morely tried to beg a ride from several drivers who stopped to help, and then ran off into nearby woods, police reported.
An off-duty state prison corrections officer chased Morley, but was unable to catch him, police reported. Trooper Christopher Rollston and his police dog, “Ozzy,” were able to track down Morley in the area of Fort Eddy Road, however.
Morley was later released on personal recognizance, pending arraignment in Concord District Court.
