John Thain or Barack Obama: Who is Wasting Your Money?
January 27th, 2009 | by admin |John Thain and Barack Obama have something in common, their interior decorator, Michael Smith. This is the same guy who John Thain was excoriated for paying multiple thousands of dollars to decorate his Bank of America office, while his company slid into the worst financial trouble in its long existence.
I put all this together when I heard Barney Frank, the well know gay, liberal congressman, say that John Thain would have been John McCain’s Treasury Secretary had he been elected. He said this to diminish the fact that Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary is an admitted tax ‘mistaker’.
I personally think John Thain was foolish, but using him as the political poster boy for Republican squander is a slap in the face of President Barack Obama, who is using the same high priced, big spending decorator.
Barney Frank’s view is that this economy and election are a repudiation of Reaganomics, and that public and private sectors need to work together to solve this financial crisis. Pretty words, but they are code words. They mean government control over business and profits, or Socialism for short.
Barney Frank continues to deny any mistake on his part when he refused to institute oversight of Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, causing the current housing crisis.
Liberal, feel good, giveaway programs sound good to those getting the benefits, but they will always lead to financial collapse. You just can’t take away from the producers and give to those who won’t produce. Giving everyone in high school a C would seem good for the F student, but the A student would lose all incentive to achieve, hurting everyone.
Frank was for limits on regulation when it was his friends and alleged ‘kick back’ buddies involved. Now he is for regulation and confiscation, since power has swung in his direction.
Redecorating the White House is a traditional thing for the First Lady to do, but doing it with the same ‘blank check’ mentality that was used for the most expensive inauguration in history is more than just unwise in this recession.
Say what you want about John ‘commode with legs’ Thain. Barack Obama isn’t wasting Bank of America’s money he is wasting America’s money, yours and mine.
