My 1 1/2 year old boxer mix got kennel cough from my new boxer puppy. The puppy was put on clavomax and is now better, but my older dog has much more severe symptoms. The vet started her on a stronger dosage of the clavomax a couple of days ago, but she is shaking a lot, not eating, not drinking much, and is completely lethargic. She typically eats anything and everything, and is a high energy dog. How can I tell if it has developed into pneumonia, or if she has a fever as well? Should I consult another vet?
Take her back to the vet you have. Sounds like they did what they thought was right at the time, and the treatment just didn't take. If you're still not happy with what they do, then yeah, go to another vet.

Also, did your vet prescribe Vibramycin (doxycycline monohydrate). And did your rats pneumonia get worse before it got better?
The vet i went to didn't have baytril cause they are retards. it was kind of small so that's prolly why.
My rat didn't have pneumonia, but he was sounding quite wheezy and was prescribed both Baytril with doxy and Vibramycin, both of which to be given every 12 hours for 30 days. It seems a little odd that your vet didn't prescribe any Baytril, that's usually what they go to first. Call up your vet and ask them why they didn't prescribe any.
As for getting worse before getting better, that does happen sometimes when it comes to antibiotics. It's a sort of detox of the body, and flu-like symptoms appear for a few days to a week. At least, that's in humans, I'm just making the assumption about rats so that may not be entirely accurate. Again, I'd call the vet and just ask about it to be sure.

What is the difference between having a flu and having pneumonia?
Oh also… If you dunk your head in cold water and went outside during a chilly day, you could catch a cold, maybe the flu, maybe even pneumonia?
Could someone please clerify the difference in how each are caught?
pneumonia can be viral and bacterial. though both flu and pneumonia can cause respiratory problems, pneumonia usually causes more severe breathing issues, as it is primarily oriented in the lungs.
as for dunking your head in the water and going outside, sure its possible to catch either if your immune system is compromised.

Great stomping Jug Band take of Woody Guthrie’s 1938 Dust Bowl song. As a music-hungry 12 year old, like everyone else it seemed, I went out & bought ‘In The Summertime’. Since then it’s this great b-side stomper that only gets played. (Dawn DNX2502)

I was in the hospital for about a week with pneumonia. I asperated into my right lung, and it was almost completely full. I am a soccer player, so i need to be able to run for long periods of time without losing my stamina. I was wondering about how long it will be untill i can breathe normally again?!
usually after seven to fourteen days and initially take five day course of antibiotic and do physiotherapy.and after words start physical exercises. ideally you should be fit within a month.
